Starting To Take Art Seriously

I used to be quite the artist when I was younger. But life got in the way and I was sure it was impossible to make a living as an artist (thanks parents). But now, I realize just how doable it actually is. And so, I’ve been drawing a lot more and sharing my art on social media, more of just a test to see if I still enjoyed it. Turns out, I do. A lot. Enough to take it more seriously and (with a little luck) turn it into something significant.

Trouble is, I haven’t done much in the past, oh I don’t know… couple decades or so. Even when I did a lot when I was a teenager, I wasn’t very good. I was decent for a teen, but no where good enough to take professional work. So that’s where I’m picking up. I’m drawing every day, taking classes to improve, and focusing on getting good. Got a long road ahead, but I think I may be happier than I’ve been in a long time, so I’m okay with being patient.

Here are a few initial pieces I did late 2019 and early 2020, just to challenge myself and see where my skills really were at. Some digital drawings, paintings, and designs.
